Digby Vision: the real-time AR Pokémon card scanner
Point your phone at a table of raw cards. Every card gets outlined, identified and priced live, in GBP, while you watch. This is what scanning should have been all along.
Fractions of a second
to lock an outline on each card
~7 seconds
per card, one at a time, with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini in our tests
~85,000
cards in Digby's catalogue across EN, JP, KR and CN
This wasn't meant to be possible in a browser
Real-time augmented reality and computer vision normally live in native apps backed by heavy cloud servers. Digby Vision runs it in a web page. Card finding, tracking and the AR outlines all run on your phone, live, at camera speed, with no app to install. Only the first read of a new card goes online to Digby, and the cards it has already seen this visit come back on-device, instantly.
Open a link, point your camera at the table, and watch the whole spread light up with prices.
Meet Digby, a Pokémon-trained AI agent
Digby (Digital Byte Engine) is a proprietary pricing-trained AI, built and trained on COMPED's own data. General chatbots know a bit about everything. Digby knows one thing better than anything else on the market: what a Pokémon card is worth, right now, in the UK.
It runs on our own data and workflows: a catalogue of every printing we track, collector-number rules, regional pricing ratios, condition discounts, reprint checks, outlier-scrubbed sold data and the slang real collectors type. That's the knowledge a big general AI simply doesn't have, which is why it guesses and Digby doesn't.
Digby Vision is Digby's eyes: a custom forked vision model stack, retrained and heavily modified for Pokémon cards, running alongside Digby. It finds, follows and recognises cards frame by frame, and hands each one to Digby to read and price. The heavy lifting happens in the background, so the camera stays smooth.
Under the hood: AI in a web page
Live card tracking used to mean a native app or expensive cloud servers watching your camera. Digby Vision does it inside an ordinary web page: open the scanner, point your phone, no download.
Artwork recognition on your phone. Digby Vision runs purpose-forked model weights on the phone itself. Each card's artwork is learned as an embedding — a compact vector fingerprint — and checked against tens of thousands of pictures in our catalogue using on-device vector storage.
Smooth on everyday phones. The heavy work runs in background workers using WebAssembly, so the camera never waits on it. Outlines are redrawn every screen refresh and follow cards as you pan.
Real-time means real-time. Plenty of "scanner" apps aren't live at all: snap one photo, upload it, wait, then pick from a list, one card at a time. Digby Vision tracks every card on the table on the live camera feed, outlines them as you move, and prices a new card in 1–2 seconds*. No snapping, no waiting, no list.
It remembers what it's seen. Cards you've already scanned this visit are recognised from their artwork fingerprint on the phone, instantly, with no new lookup.
*English cards. Mixed-language, Korean and Chinese cards take a little longer, still under 5 seconds on average.
Why vendors are switching
Sees the whole table
Finds every card in view and keeps a live outline locked to each one as you pan, tilt and move. Hands, glare and sleeves don't throw it.
Thinks like a dealer
Digby is trained on Pokémon: names, set codes, collector numbers, regional printings, reprints and slang. It knows a Base Set Eevee from a POP Series one.
Won't bluff a price
Artwork and collector number must agree before a confident price shows. If they don't, you see 'Set unconfirmed' instead of a wrong number.
Instant on repeats
Every card it has priced this session is remembered by its artwork, so it pops straight back with zero lookups and zero wait.
Every language
English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese cards matched to the exact regional print and priced in GBP.
Straight into your workflow
Scanned cards drop into buy-in offers, stock and Niimbot label printing. Scan, price, print, sell.

Questions
What is Digby Vision?
Digby Vision is COMPED's real-time AR card scanner. It finds every card in your phone's camera view, follows each one as you move, reads the exact printing and shows a live UK price over the card.
What is Digby?
Digby (Digital Byte Engine) is COMPED's proprietary Pokémon-trained AI agent. It is built on our own catalogue of around 85,000 cards across English, Japanese, Korean and Chinese, our own pricing rules and our own sold-data workflows.
How fast is it compared with ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini?
In our tests, pasting a card photo into a general-purpose AI chatbot took around 7 seconds per card, for one card at a time, with no price check against real sales. Digby Vision outlines cards in a fraction of a second, scans many cards at once, and re-recognises cards it has already priced instantly, on the phone, without another online lookup.
Can it scan more than one card at a time?
Yes. That is the point. Lay out a binder page, a bulk tray or a buy-in pile and Digby Vision outlines and prices every card it can see.
Does it confuse reprints and different printings?
Digby only shows a confident price when the card's artwork and its collector number agree. If it can name the card but not confirm the exact set, it says so with a 'Set unconfirmed' tag rather than guessing.
Does it work on Japanese, Korean and Chinese cards?
Yes. Foreign cards are matched to the exact regional printing and priced using regional market ratios, then shown in GBP.
Who is it for?
UK vendors, shop owners and serious collectors who buy in bulk and need prices fast. The demo is free to try; full prices, buy-in, stock and label printing come with the Vendor tier.
